Andy Smith

Hi, I've just joined ANLP.
Coaching Leaders Ltd run small-group NLP Practitioner and Foundation Skills courses in Manchester. We specialise in practical applications of NLP to Emotional Intelligence and coaching.

Andy Smith is the author of "Achieve Your Goals: Strategies To Transform Your Life" (Dorling Kindersley 2006). He was the co-founder of the Richmond NLP Group and started the Manchester NLP Group. Currently he organises the NW Business NLP and Emotional Intelligence Group (www.manchesternlp.co.uk).

Some testimonials:

"If I never used NLP again the course would still have been worth every penny for the personal benefits alone. I don't think there is a single area of my life (home, work, health, spiritual & family) that has not benefited from NLP."
- Sally Lane, manager

"Andy is a very supportive trainer and gained rapport really quickly. He was congruent about what he taught and willling to respond to the group. I had the sense that everthing was safe... I am already using what I have learned. I now have a reputation at work for having 'POWERS'."
- Patrick Evans, Senior lecturer in Mental Health Nursing

Andy is a first-rate trainer with a very clear and varied presentation style; a great deal of practical work/exercises is included and supported by an excellent manual. The course far exceeded my hopes for it, and like all of my fellow participants, I benefited greatly from it, both in terms of lots of relevant learning for use in coaching, and also in terms of my own personal development."
- Bob Kessler, Personal and Professional Coach

I co-trained with Andy Smith on some courses in Manchester a few years ago and learned much more than I taught from the experience!

Andy brings integrity to a new level in training- he is absolutely immaculate with his sources and quotes and the studies he uses to prove a point. He gently pointed out to me that a well-known story I was using to demonstrate the efficacy of goal setting was actually an urban legend! Needless to say, I've never used that story again and it taught me to check out any stories I used in the future in my trainings.

Andy gives generously of his knowledge and experience and he is a veritable fountain of information about his subject. His style is gentle, understated and empathetic. He eases you into the subject and makes everything effortless and easy. He is also a superb hypnotist to boot and uses Ericksonian language patterns so artlessly that you pick up the skills he is teaching unconsciously.

If you get a chance to train with Andy, take it, you will be happy you did.

I trained with Andy Smith and successfully completed his Master Practitioner course in 2006. I can honestly say that it was one of the best training courses of any type that I have ever experienced. Andy ran the course in the traditional way i.e. a full 20 day course - no shortcuts, no quick fixes just a totally professional and inspirational 20 days packed with ideas and plenty of real hands-on practice time culminating in each participant being required to deliver a presentation that had to pull together all the elements learned over those 20 days. All of this objectively assessed and accredited. The course gave me the confidence to immediately start to take on therapy clients and I achieved excellent results on the back of Andy's training. I continue to help people using the core skills that Andy passed on to me. I have no hesitation in recommending Andy for his ability and willingness to pass on his knowledge of NLP, Hypnosis, Emotional Intelligence and Coaching. If you want a trainer/coach who delivers the goods Andy's your man.

I trained as an NLP practitioner with Andy a few years ago now. His course was the beginning of a fascinating journey for me which opened me up to a whole new way of looking at the world, myself and others. I have learned to blend my NLP skills into my personal approach to everything that I do, but specifically when working with teams or individuals in coaching situations. Sometimes, I use a skill or technique and still surprise myself at the impact even simple interventions have on others . Andy is a patient and tolerant teacher, with the gift of making you feel that whatever you ask , whatever you don't understand is no big deal. If you get a chance to train with Andy, you will enjoy , learn and benefit for a long time after .
