I have been practising as a Counsellor since 1986 with my initial training in Client centred Therapy for substance misuse disorders. Later on, I progressed to become a Counsellor/ Psychotherapist, a Licensed Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner and a qualified & registered clinical Hypnotherapist.
Academically, I hold a Masters Degree (MA), where I specialised counselling and psychotherapy, a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Counselling (PGCPsyCouns-Grade A), and a Professional Practitioner Diploma in Hypnotherapy (Honours), a Diploma in Psychology (distinction) and an advanced Counselling Certificate (distinction)
Apart from Professional membership with ANLP UK, I hold membership of the World Federation of Hypnotherapists (MWFH), the Society of Hypno-analysts (MSHA) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, MBACP.

I have been eclectic and integrative in practice, using a variety of Psycho therapeutic systems in my work, to help my clients address their issues. I use Hypnosis clinically, to enhance the results and efficiency of therapy, depending on the issue and the suitability. Hypnosis can be used if the individual is interested and his or her conditions are deemed suitable for the use of Hypnosis. So treatments can be planned according to the needs and wishes.
I can help with substance and food dependency, mind-body issues, anxieties, OCD, phobias, traumas, mood disorders such as Depression, mania and Bi-polar (without an element of psychosis). I can help with pain management where mindfulness, CBT and Hypnosis can be used as main therapies.
I help children with pre and post bereavement/loss, anxieties, phobias and other psychological issues.
I can take a brief assessment over the phone free of charge, before the first appointment. Subsequent sessions can be arranged face to face in selected clinics or by home visits.
I am fluent (spoken and written) in Sinhalese language as well.
