Ditch the Scales encourages you to explore underlying thoughts and feelings to your dietary behaviours. It supports you to reflect on dietary actions and habits you may have formed as a result of thoughts and emotions not in relation to food. After understanding the habit, next is stopping the habit and developing positive thoughts, emotions and dietary actions. The book consists of a range of reflection exercises which are great and include strong questions which you would not necessarily ask yourself. Being asked reflective and challenging questions opens up the space to think and reflect, and empowers the individual to make positive decisions going forward. I would recommend this book as it is a great insight tool and holds you to account in a friendly manner.
This book is motivating and entertaining. Speaking in front of others and presenting can be perceived as quite daunting. Judy addresses this is a sensitive manner, offering lots of ways to develop confidence and presenting. The use of questions throughout the book makes it personal and speaking in front of people is personal. Case studies are given throughout encouraging the reader to observe the impact the tools have had on others and how they may support them individually. Key throughout is how our thoughts impact on our feelings and behaviours. This message is put across in such a friendly tone making the book a joy to read and relate to. Definitely a book I will be recommending to colleagues and clients.
