Time Line and Perceptual Positioning

The Time Line is an immensely satisfying tool.

• We can walk back and forth along it, pause, reflect and move to another position.
• We can step off it and talk to our younger or older self to get clarity 
• We can hover over it for the disassociated bystander 3rd position and we can see what others might see without our more emotional 1st person standpoint

Similarly, the 3 perceptual positions can also be illuminating as we watch our client step into each position and view the situation from there. 

I use these two techniques frequently, as simply the act of moving can help your client break state and get a different insight.
