About ANLP

What makes ANLP different from other NLP organisations?

ANLP is structurally independent.

We do not deliver NLP training, coaching or workshops.
This ensures there is no commercial conflict of interest in how we:

  • Verify qualifications
  • Recognise training schools
  • Set membership criteria
  • Uphold ethical standards
  • Handle complaints

Our independence enables impartial recognition across diverse schools of NLP while maintaining consistent minimum standards.

ANLP’s role is professional governance — not training delivery.

What does ANLP actually do?

ANLP operates as a professional membership body with three core functions:

Protect the Public

  • Provide accessible, unbiased information about NLP
  • Maintain a directory of verified practitioners
  • Uphold a Code of Ethics
  • Operate a formal Complaints and Disciplinary Procedure

Safeguard Professional Standards

  • Verify credentials and training hours
  • Maintain published Core Requirements
  • Apply consistent membership criteria

Support Responsible Practice

  • Publish Rapport magazine
  • Provide professional updates and guidance
  • Maintain infrastructure that enables practitioner visibility

ANLP is not a statutory regulator.
We provide structured self-regulation that strengthens public confidence and professional credibility.

What does ANLP not do?

ANLP:

  • Does not deliver NLP training or coaching
  • Does not promote one specific school or methodology
  • Does not act as a marketing agency
  • Does not provide statutory regulation

Our remit is professional standards and ethical governance.

Governance & Accountability

Who are ANLP accountable to?

ANLP operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC).

As a CIC, we are:

  • Registered with Companies House
  • Regulated by the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies
  • Required to submit annual accounts and community interest reports

CIC status legally requires ANLP to operate for community benefit rather than private shareholder gain.

Why is ANLP’s independence important?

Professional oversight requires impartiality.

By not delivering our own training, ANLP avoids conflicts of interest when:

  • Recognising certifications
  • Handling complaints
  • Applying membership standards

Independence strengthens public trust and ensures fairness across the profession.

Membership & Professional Recognition

Why join ANLP?

  • Professional credibility
  • Ethical accountability
  • Independent recognition
  • Commitment to published standards

All members agree to uphold the ANLP Code of Ethics and operate within ANLP’s governance framework.
