Our Vision

Our vision is a world where people live more empowered lives because NLP is practised responsibly, professionally and with integrity.

We believe that when applied well, NLP can create meaningful change — for individuals, organisations, education and wider society. As standards strengthen and responsible practice grows, NLP will increasingly be recognised as a valuable and respected approach to personal and professional development.

Our Mission

Our mission is to be the leading independent standards body for professional NLP.

We exist to support the development of NLP as a credible, ethical and accountable profession. As an independent professional body, ANLP works to strengthen standards, encourage responsible practice and represent the interests of serious NLP professionals.

Within the NLP community, this means we aim to:

  • strengthen our role as an independent and impartial voice for professional NLP
  • promote ethical practice and personal responsibility
  • encourage co-operation, collaboration and professional dialogue
  • support practitioners to apply NLP congruently, ethically and professionally

Our Strategic Aims

To deliver our mission, ANLP focuses on five core aims.

Strengthening the Professional Community

We continue to grow ANLP membership nationally and internationally so that the NLP profession is represented by a credible, independent body capable of supporting standards worldwide.

Promoting Professional NLP

We promote NLP through:

  • encouraging professionalism and personal responsibility within the NLP community
  • maintaining a self-regulatory framework that protects the public
  • supporting ethical standards and best practice
  • communicating the value and versatility of NLP

Supporting Practitioners and the Community

We support individuals to develop and practise NLP professionally by:

  • encouraging collaboration and community through events, forums and peer networks
  • developing reliable resources for both practitioners and the public
  • creating safe environments for dialogue, learning and support
  • listening to members to ensure our services evolve alongside the profession

Developing Professional Standards and Accreditation

ANLP works to develop internationally recognised accreditation programmes and professional standards that support credibility, accountability and quality within NLP training and practice.

Encouraging Research and Model Development

We support ongoing exploration, research and development of NLP models where this contributes to responsible professional practice.
