Suzanne says,
As an Ambassador for ANLP in New Zealand I love sharing ANLP with colleagues here in Oceania. I am proud to show and share the amazing work done by the ANLP team, in setting standards and offering high quality, independent advice and support to practitioners, trainers and the public. With the closing of the NZANLP in 2022, it seems a perfect time for an even greater presence for ANLP here in the antipodes. Originally from the UK, and with a healthcare background, I spent nearly a decade as an Associate Professor in Health Care before transitioning to focus on running my own company full time in 2015 (mBraining4Success, which incorporates The Luminosity Project). I remain passionate about the potential of NLP in health care, and I have written two books in the field (NLP and Coaching for Health care Professionals: Developing Expert Practice in 2007 and Practical Leadership in Nursing and Health Care: A multi-professional approach in 2014). I have also written a number of other books, articles, book chapters and speak regularly on podcasts and at conferences and summits. My approach is one of passionate real-life, evidence based application to make a positive difference in the world. I trained in the UK as an NLP Practitioner, Master Practitioner and Trainer and subsequently have continued to learn with some of the best people in the field and I love the ongoing learning each year through the NLP International Conference. I also love presenting at the conference, (loving the virtual option now which makes that even more easily possible) and in 2022 was humbled to be a finalist in the ANLP Awards for Education and Research. As a founding member of the NLP Research Conference Committee and an advocate of the value of the Research in NLP journal, I continue to envision a future where we can push forward the boundaries and particularly the evidence base of NLP practice. I was thrilled to write in (and edit) for about 7 years the Research Development Series in Rapport Magazine to equip people to step into a more active research role. If you are interested in reading these articles you can find them here https://anlp.org/rapport/articles/category/research One of my NLP Research Highlights was an article published in the International Journal of Psychiatry in Medicine which explored the use of the double dissociation technique for height phobia (no easy achievement). In 2013 I trained in (and for a decade led the field of) mBIT (multiple Brain Integration Techniques) which introduces the concept of head, heart and gut brains. This enabled me to extend my NLP coaching and training. I was privileged to work closely with the key developer, Grant Soosalu, developing courses, writing, researching and since his passing in 2019 I continue to extend and evolve the field of multiple intelligences in coaching to ensure those who value credibility, currency and accuracy have a pathway to stay up to date. mBraining2.0 was launched in 2022 to encompass all the very latest research and knowing in neuroscience, moving on from the 2012 materials which introduced me to the field. My latest work includes the development of a world leading, web based, psychometric tool to identify which intelligences people are using in decision making – due to be launched in 2024. Let me know if you want to now more about that. The science behind that work is available through Sage Open (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/2158244019837439) In the last decade I have been deepening and expanding my tool box to be able to serve an ever complex and changing world. Some of the other main tools which I now use in an integrated and embodied way along with NLP and the Neuroscience of Multiple Intelligences include: ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy); IDT (Interactive Drawing Therapy); Polyvagal Informed Therapy; Havening; Breathwork; Existential Coaching; Heart math; Refocusing Counselling; Solution Focused Brief Therapy; Positive Neuroplasticity; Compassion 360; Mindfulness; Emotional Culture Deck and Map of Meaning. Since 2008, I have been part of an NLP Practice Group in Auckland, which gives me ongoing CPD and Peer Supervision, which is invaluable. I also belong to two separate peer supervision groups, ensuring my practice is professional and serves clients in the safest and best possible way. I also host a FREE Global Wisdom Support Call monthly for any coaches interested in working in an integrated, embodied way incorporating Multiple Intelligences (get in touch if you want to join me on that call). If you are in New Zealand or looking to come and visit – do feel free to get in touch if you want to know more about ANLP.
