About ANLP

The Association for Neuro Linguistic Programming (ANLP) is widely recognised as the gold standard independent professional body for NLP, dedicated to supporting responsible, ethical and professional NLP practice.

Since its founding in 1985, ANLP has worked to strengthen professional standards, encourage accountability and represent the interests of serious NLP practitioners in the UK and internationally.

As a Community Interest Company, our purpose is not organisational growth for its own sake, but the continued development of NLP as a credible professional discipline that benefits both practitioners and the wider public.

ANLP exists to safeguard standards, uphold ethics and support responsible NLP practitioners.

Professional Credibility

ANLP operates as an independent professional association supporting standards, ethics and responsible practice within the field of NLP.

Our role includes:

• Maintaining professional membership standards
• Verifying practitioner credentials
• Upholding a published Code of Ethics
• Operating a formal complaints and disciplinary process
• Supporting responsible professional practice
• Providing independent guidance for the public

This framework helps strengthen trust in NLP professionals and supports the continued development of the field.

Vision & Mission

Our vision is for NLP to be recognised and applied as a responsible and valuable tool for personal, organisational and educational development.

Our mission is to act as a global flagbearer for professional NLP by promoting standards, encouraging ethical practice and supporting responsible practitioners.

Our Role in the NLP Profession

ANLP is not a training provider and does not promote any single school of NLP.

Our role is to support the professional development of the field by encouraging standards, ethical practice and responsible application of NLP across a wide range of sectors.

Our Role in the NLP Profession

ANLP as a Community Interest Company

ANLP operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC), a form of social enterprise designed to benefit the wider community.

This structure reflects our commitment to supporting the development of NLP for the benefit of practitioners, the public and the professional community.

Transparency & Professional Stewardship

ANLP membership fees support the infrastructure required to maintain professional standards, uphold ethical practice and protect the credibility of NLP.

This includes credential verification, governance of the Code of Ethics, operation of the complaints process, professional publications and the systems that support both members and the public.

Supporting the Future of Professional NLP

Everything ANLP does is guided by one central purpose: strengthening the credibility and responsible development of NLP.

By supporting ethical practice, encouraging professional standards and providing an independent voice for NLP, we help ensure the profession continues to develop in ways that benefit practitioners, their clients and the wider public.
