I was recently on a business trip discussing how lucky or unlucky people behaved. Is there something that makes people 'luckier' than others or is it just ... well, luck? The consensus was that 'lucky' people were simply more aware of an opportunity when it presented itself and were ready to act immediately and or quickly because they had noticed it.
