Logical Levels and the Philosophy of Luck

Deeper and deeper.  A philosophical journey and a demonstration of what luck might look like when it is manifested…

I don’t normally name attendees in these blogs and I am giving some anonymity by using some fake initials to protect some of the IP that is discussed below… There were 2½ of us on the call (the ½ is related to the philosophy of chance!)…

A fairly “official” discussion (let’s call him Mr X (how’s that for drama?!)) about the next webinar he has organised… how Logical Levels can be used in a specific context.  Just the two of us on the call at the start, with Mr X expounding his application of Logical Levels in the specific area of business and that the webinar has over 400 people registered already!  (ANLP has a great relationship with the APM due to Tim and the support we get from Members and Fellows who have given their time to speak to people who are interested to find out about NLP in a project management context…)

Mr X also mentioned that he has been looking deeper into Logical Levels and potential applications for large organisations…

We went on to discuss science fiction novels that are (or have already!) becoming reality such as “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” (Phillip K Dick),  the works of Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, The Terminator and The Matrix… examples of proper Artificial Intelligence  where machines learn, react and have emotions…

Off we went into an exploration of philosophy in general, the roots of NLP, how much of science today was once considered magic (and perhaps it continues to be magic if we have little or no understanding of what something happens or works? See Max Planck, often referred to as the Father of Quantum Mechanics).  I posited my theory of “every second of our now is at least 500 years in the making”, suggesting that every choice we and others make creates a future based on a decision point… and that we have those decision points every second of every day… So does what we say and do now create a future that we envision?

Cue a reinforcement of that theory…

Halfway through the Café, we were joined by Mr Y (more intrigue) who Mr X had collaborated with on a previous project.  And the incredible chance was that Mr Y had a real-life case study of logical levels being applied with fantastic success in a large public service organisation.  Names and details were exchanged and the discussion continued.  It was precisely what Mr X had been talking about.

What seemed important to me was that Mr Y had been manifested to appear, halfway through the meeting to provide the evidence of what Mr X was looking for… Logical Levels being used in a specific context with measurable success.

I have been deliberately vague with specifics here to protect the IP of Mr X.

Two things then:

  1. If you want to find out more, watch this space and the ANLP website
  2. If you want to take part in these unbelievably inspiring, enlightening and belief-challenging discussions, join the next ANLP Members Café.  FOMO (for this) will then disappear!

You can be part of it in the next ANLP Community Café, exclusively for ANLP Members, with the details available on your Members dashboard when you log into the ANLP website.
