To quote Simon Sinek, I'll start with the why. As an adopted child, growing up I had so many blind spots resulting from limiting generalisations I had made about myself, others and the world we live in. Looking back, I was essentially trapped by my thoughts... because I believed them. I had no concept of internal representation and believed that the meanings I was making about life were 100% true. My teenage years were engulfed with limiting beliefs and values conflicts, resulting in destructive behaviour and depression. In 2016, someone switched the lights on. Life started happening for me and a series of events led me here. I discovered neurolinguistic programming. After 12 years of working with young people without these skills, I started to question what I had been doing previously. Suddenly everything made sense....
