Do you ever feel there must be something better out there but you're not sure exactly what? Do you have hopes and dreams but you're not sure how to make them a reality? Maybe you know exactly what you want and how to get it but just lack confidence and self-belief?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you need to discover 'Serendipity's Secret'!

This life coaching guide with a difference is woven around the heart-warming tale of a cat called Serendipity. She feels stuck in a rut and trapped in a life of drudgery, yet, unable to see a way out, is resigned to continuing her safe but dull existence. It is only when she meets a mysterious and charismatic life coaching parrot called Pollyanna that she begins to realise that her life could be so much more. She has hopes, desires, ambitions, dreams. Yet, held back by fear of failure and lack of self-belief, how could she ever hope to achieve them?

Pollyanna vows to help her do just that, and as the weeks pass, Serendipity begins to change . . .

Combining an uplifting story with a practical self-coaching guide, Serendipity's Secret provides all the tools you need to turn your life around and find lasting happiness. Read it, feel inspired and, just like Serendipity, discover that the key to your dreams is much nearer than you think!

I was intrigued

I was intrigued to read this book having read other books that have conveyed their message through a parable like, My Iceberg Is Melting, Who Ate My Cheese and The Five Dysfunction's of a Team. The book follows a similar format where all but the last chapter is a story that plays out the lessons to be learnt, about a cat called Serendipity who is looking to reach the famous dairy and drink the cream. She meets a parrot called Polly who helps her on her way, coaching her from goal setting to actually achieving her objectives. Each chapter of the story takes the reader through the process of being coached and has a wrap-up of what’s happened, allowing the reader to extract the learning from the story.

It is a pretty easy read, all be it slightly repetitive, as in most chapters Serendipity does something then recounts it to Polly, which I began to find annoying near the end. The last chapter has specific instructions to coach yourself, however I'd doubt someone could effectively follow these brief descriptions and get lots of value without further reading or assistance. Therefore I would suggest that this isn’t a book for someone going alone, but more better suited for someone who has is going through coaching or has had in the past. It would be interesting to know what someone who’s not been through coaching makes of it.

I did find it inspiring through. As someone who completed their NLP Practitioner 12 months ago, to hear how Polly described things like procrastination and motivation, added some more tools to my repertoire. I also found some of my own goals that I'd neglected recently got some attention.
