Back to NLP Research & Evidence

One of the best ways to understand how NLP may help is to read about how it has been applied in real situations.

ANLP collects case studies from members to show the many different ways NLP is used across personal development, work, education, healthcare, wellbeing, teams and organisations.

These case studies can help you see what NLP may look like in practice, what kinds of outcomes people explore, and how NLP professionals apply their skills in different contexts.

Why read NLP case studies?

If you are new to NLP, it can sometimes be difficult to imagine what “working with an NLP professional” actually involves.

Case studies can make this clearer.

They may help you understand:

  • the kinds of situations where NLP may be used
  • how NLP professionals approach different goals or challenges
  • what practical NLP work can look like
  • how individuals, teams or organisations may experience NLP
  • what outcomes have been explored in real examples
  • whether a particular application of NLP feels relevant to you

A case study is not a guarantee that the same result will happen for everyone. Each person, team and organisation is different. However, case studies can offer useful insight into the range and flexibility of NLP in practice.

How the case studies are organised

To make it easier to find relevant examples, ANLP case studies are organised broad categories, which you will find on the right of the Case Studies portal

These categories help you quickly identify the area most relevant to your interest.

What to look for in a case study

When reading case studies, it can be useful to notice:

  • What was the context?
  • What outcome was being explored?
  • What changed?
  • What was learned?
  • What limitations or boundaries were acknowledged?
  • Is this relevant to my own situation or organisation?

The most useful case studies are not just success stories. They also help explain the process, the context and the learning.

Case studies and evidence

Case studies are a valuable form of practice-based evidence.

They show how NLP is being applied in real settings and can help identify where NLP may be making a difference.

They are not the same as formal clinical research, and they should not be treated as proof that the same result will occur in every situation. However, they are useful in areas such as personal development, education, business, leadership and organisational development, where real-world application and context are important.

You can read more about this in this NLP and Research section.

In summary

Case studies help bring NLP to life.

They show how NLP may be applied in real situations and can help you explore whether NLP may be relevant to your personal, professional, educational or organisational goals.
