Back to blog posts Posted by Kash Falconer on April 8th 2025 Personal Reflections Share Tweet LinkedIn Pin The largest AT&T gathering since we started these meetings during the pandemic! 20 people from India, Ireland, England and Dubai joined us for the call that discussed how NLP makes the world a better place… and how much more it can do… The global economic challenges facing NLP Trainers was discussed at length and how all trainers are facing similar barriers, namely, personal and corporate money is strained! We’re also dealing with the branding of NLP and Karen (CEO of ANLP) spoke of how, in England, we have regained the English flag of St. George. For many years, this was used by far right groups and, for me personally, represented the hatred I used to face at school. Regaining it has been a long journey and it now symbolises pride in English sports teams… “even if they’re not always good!” The same can be true for NLP. Branded as “manipulative” and sometimes with connotations of malicious persuasion, we know that ANLP Members represent the best NLP Professionals in the world. NLP, as an identity, can be regained as a brand of ethics and integrity if we keep doing what we’re doing and broadcast our good work as far and as widely as possible… The use of NLP in combatting far right influences was also discussed. My own opinion is that we will always have extremists… whether far right, far left or other opinions that are deemed extremist or potentially causing instability for the swathes of society or communities. In fact, it may not be extremism at all! Our work with NLP is to deal with what’s in front of us and make our own difference whether that be one person, one community, one company or one Government at a time. The phrase “Society is broken” was used to describe how one Trainer views the current situation… Again, the journey towards resolution is… one person at a time… Using our skills with NLP coaching and other tools we have available to us (knowledge and experience amongst them), we have an opportunity to demonstrate resilience, self-awareness and positive ways to reframe our own situations and those of the people we meet and work with. We remain optimistic that our work will keep NLP prominent as a tool for positive transformational change… for whoever we get the chance to work with! Kash Falconer
