Ioften find it is helpful to start by defining our terms. Compassion itself is defined as ‘noun: deep awareness of the suffering of another, coupled with the wish to relieve it’. From an mBIT (multiple Brains Integration Techniques) lens, I would also add to that ‘and action to do so’. It is not at all about pity. It is not some nebulous religious or remote spiritual concept (despite being pivotal in many world faith-based traditions). Most of all, it is nothing to do with misconceptions about toxic positivity or being a ‘soft touch’....
