What Does Your Profile Say About You?

Posted by Shannen Marsh on

A member’s blog on setting intentions instead of resolutions and a visit to the community cafe, connecting with some amazing and inspiring people, encouraged me to finally start my search for a coach and what better way to do that than on the ANLP members directory!

Using the website as a potential client rather than one of the ANLP Team put me in a really interesting position. I wanted to share my feedback to encourage you to be more curious about your profile and what messages you are giving to your potential clients.

I did my search and a number of profiles came up, the top 4 things I focused on were:

  • Where is your profile picture – If I am going to find out more about you, I want to see who I’m connecting with. I didn’t even click on profiles that had no picture.
  • What could I find out about you from the profile text? How can you support me as my coach? What specialist topics do you focus on? What’s your background and experience? I wanted to know these things so I could work out if you might be my coach.
  • Where do I find out more about you? Can I link to your website or social media pages and find out more about your fees/packages, next steps?
  • Where can I find other client reviews, so I can read how other people have benefitted from your services?

I was frustrated that few profiles covered all of these things…and this really could be the difference that makes a difference to engaging your next client!

Put yourself in a potential client’s shoes and ask yourself what do my clients want to know about me?

I hope that this inspires you today to revisit your profile and make sure you are giving your potential clients the information they need to take the next step…after all, we all know there is no failure only feedback!
