Amir Reza Bidavisi

NLP Business Coach and Practitioner

Professional Experience & Achievements

I am an NLP Business Practitioner and NLP Business Coach with more than 20 years of professional experience in sales, leadership, and management, and over a decade of experience in sales training and coaching.

I am also a faculty member teaching MBA and DBA courses at the University of Tehran, where I work with business professionals and future leaders. My academic background and extensive practical experience allow me to approach NLP from a business and performance perspective.

I am the author of Question-Based Selling, a practical book focused on improving sales conversations through effective questioning and communication.

My professional work focuses on translating NLP and coaching principles into practical business skills. One of my current areas of specialization is Micro-Coaching for Managers and Leaders—teaching managers how to use short, focused coaching conversations as part of their everyday leadership.

I developed Micro-Coaching Mastery for Leaders, a structured training program designed to teach this approach, and I also facilitate a practice group where participants can continue developing and applying their micro-coaching skills.

My Focus: NLP for Business

I am particularly passionate about helping business professionals use communication and coaching skills more effectively in real-world situations.

I enjoy working with managers and business leaders who want to become more effective in developing their people, handling difficult conversations, improving accountability, and supporting better performance. I am especially interested in the practical use of micro-coaching—helping managers recognize everyday coaching opportunities and respond with focused, useful conversations.

I also work with sales professionals, entrepreneurs, freelancers, coaches, and other business professionals who want to improve their communication, questioning, negotiation, influence, and interpersonal effectiveness.

My focus is on making NLP practical and relevant to the situations people actually face at work, rather than treating it as a purely theoretical subject.

Specialisms & Areas of Success

My main areas of specialization are:

  • Business Coaching and NLP Business Coaching
  • Micro-Coaching for Managers and Leaders
  • Leadership Communication
  • Sales and Service Sales
  • Negotiation and Influence
  • Questioning and Conversational Skills
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Practical NLP Applications in Business
  • Performance, motivation, and behavioral change

A particular area of current focus is micro-coaching mastery for managers.Through Micro-Coaching training for leaders and its associated practice group, I help managers understand the principles, learn practical frameworks, practice coaching conversations, and develop greater confidence in applying the approach in their own workplace.

This complements my broader work in business coaching, sales, communication, and leadership development. My background in sales, management, coaching, and business education gives me a strong practical foundation for working in these areas.

What Sets Me Apart

What sets my work apart is the combination of extensive real-world business experience, academic business education, and professional NLP practice.

I have spent more than 20 years working in sales, leadership, and management, including more than a decade in sales training and coaching. I also teach MBA and DBA courses at the University of Tehran and am the author of Question-Based Selling. My approach is therefore shaped not only by NLP and coaching training, but by years of working with the communication, performance, and leadership challenges that business professionals actually face.

This background led me to focus on an important gap in managerial development: managers are frequently told to “coach their people,” but are rarely given a simple, practical way to integrate coaching into everyday management.

My work in Micro-Coaching for Managers and Leaders addresses this gap through structured training, practical frameworks, and deliberate practice. Rather than positioning coaching as something that only happens in formal coaching sessions, I teach managers how coaching skills can be used in short, focused workplace conversations.

I believe NLP is most valuable when it helps people do something differently in the real world. My work therefore focuses on turning concepts into practical communication, coaching, sales, and leadership skills that can be learned, practiced, and applied.

Client Benefits

Clients can expect to gain practical tools and strategies that can improve the way they communicate, coach, lead, negotiate, and handle challenging professional situations.

Depending on their goals, they may develop:

  • More effective questioning and listening skills

  • Greater confidence in difficult or sensitive conversations

  • Stronger communication and interpersonal skills

  • Improved negotiation, influence, and sales conversations

  • Greater awareness of their own communication and behavioral patterns

  • Better ability to structure productive coaching conversations

  • Greater ability to help others gain clarity and take ownership

  • Practical strategies for supporting employee development and accountability

  • Greater confidence applying NLP and coaching techniques in real business situations

For managers who learn micro-coaching, the benefit is particularly practical: they learn how to recognize everyday coaching moments and respond with short, structured conversations rather than relying only on formal coaching sessions.

The objective is not simply to understand NLP or coaching concepts, but to develop skills that can be practiced and used in real professional situations.

What People Hire Me For

Clients can expect to gain practical tools and strategies that they can apply directly to their professional situations.

Depending on their objectives, this may include:

  • More effective communication and questioning

  • Greater confidence in difficult conversations

  • Improved negotiation and influence skills

  • Stronger sales and client conversations

  • Better ability to recognize and respond to coaching opportunities

  • Improved ability to support employee development and accountability

  • Greater awareness of their own behavioral patterns and responses

  • Practical strategies for managing challenging situations and maintaining performance

For managers and leaders, the focus may be on developing the ability to use short, purposeful coaching conversations as part of everyday management, helping them support performance and development without turning every interaction into a formal coaching session.

My objective is for clients to leave with something they can actually use—not simply something they understand.

People can hire me for business coaching, sales training and coaching, negotiation training, leadership communication, interpersonal communication, and practical NLP applications.

I also provide training for managers and leaders who want to develop coaching capability within their everyday management practice. This includes my Micro-Coaching Mastery for Leaders training program and associated practice group, where participants learn the framework, work through practical scenarios, and develop their ability to apply micro-coaching techniques.

Depending on the objective, working with me may take the form of:

  • Individual NLP Business Coaching

  • One-to-one sessions focused on a specific business challenge or skill

  • Sales or negotiation training

  • Leadership and communication training

  • Workshops for teams and organizations

  • Practical NLP tools and techniques sessions

  • Structured training in micro-coaching for managers and leaders

  • Ongoing practice through a micro-coaching practice group

My work is generally practical and interactive. Sessions may include structured frameworks, questioning, role-play, real-life business scenarios, feedback, and exercises designed to help participants move from understanding a concept to being able to use it.

For organizations, programs can also be adapted to specific management, communication, sales, or leadership requirements.

Am I the Right Person to Help You?

I may be a good fit if you are looking for a practical, business-oriented approach to NLP, coaching, communication, or leadership development.

My background combines more than two decades of sales and management experience, over a decade of training and coaching experience, university-level business education, and professional NLP training.

I am particularly suited to people who value practical frameworks, structured conversations, real-world examples, and opportunities to practice what they learn.

If your objective is to improve how you communicate, coach, lead, negotiate, sell, or respond to challenging professional situations, my approach may be relevant.

The best fit is usually someone who is prepared not only to learn new concepts but also to experiment with them, reflect on their effectiveness, and apply them in real situations.

Who Is This Work Best Suited For?

From an impartial perspective, my work is likely to be a good fit for professionals who want to develop practical communication, coaching, sales, or leadership capabilities and are willing to apply what they learn.

It may be particularly relevant to:

  • Business leaders and managers who want to develop practical coaching and communication skills.

  • Managers who want to learn micro-coaching as a way of integrating coaching into everyday leadership.

  • Sales professionals who want to improve questioning, influence, negotiation, and client conversations.

  • Entrepreneurs and freelancers who want to strengthen communication, negotiation, and self-management.

  • Coaches and coaching practitioners who want additional NLP-based tools and practical frameworks.

  • Business professionals who want to improve interpersonal effectiveness and professional communication.

The Micro-Coaching Mastery training and practice group are particularly suited to managers and leaders who want a structured way to learn, practice, and develop micro-coaching skills without needing to become full-time professional coaches.

Who Might Not Find This Approach Suitable?

My approach may be less suitable for people who are primarily looking for theoretical discussion without practical application, who expect immediate results without practicing new behaviors, or who are not willing to examine and experiment with their existing communication and behavioral patterns.

Micro-Coaching Mastery may not be the right fit for someone looking for professional coach certification or a comprehensive training in becoming a full-time coach. Its purpose is different: to teach managers and leaders how to use practical coaching skills within their existing leadership role.

My work is also focused on professional development, business, communication, coaching, and leadership. It is therefore not intended to replace clinical, psychological, or medical services where those are required.

Ultimately, the best fit depends on the individual's objectives, expectations, and willingness to learn, practice, and apply the skills.

Big Me Technique

It’s been about two months since I first experienced this technique through dear Amir, and since then, every time I’ve applied it, I’ve gotten the results I was hoping for.

What really stands out about Amir is his skill in tailoring the techniques to fit each person’s personality — and even more importantly, his strong sense of integrity and ethics.

To be honest, ever since I met Amir, with his support, I’ve been able to create some truly positive changes in my life. I’m genuinely grateful.

NLP Review – Overcoming Resistance to Starting Tasks_bedavisi

Recently, I experienced a simple yet powerful NLP technique to help me start tasks I've been avoiding. The session focused on tasks that I often procrastinate on, despite knowing their importance.

We used mental visualization:
First, I played a mental video of myself not doing the task. It was uncomfortable—even unbearable. I could clearly feel the stress, guilt, and the heavy weight of regret.

Then, we flipped the script. I imagined myself having started the task, making progress, and feeling proud. The emotional contrast was striking. The second video brought a sense of lightness, joy, and relief.

This contrast helped me break through the mental block. I realized that **starting** is the hardest part—not the task itself. The exercise made it emotionally obvious that *doing the work* feels way better than avoiding it.

I didn’t just think differently—I *felt* differently. That’s what made it work.

Working With Trust: An NLP Practitioner's Perspective

Reviewing: Working With Trust: How to earn trust through compassionate and empathic leadership

For those familiar with NLP-based business literature, the challenge has rarely been a shortage of material, but rather its accessibility. Many texts successfully adapt Practitioner-level NLP concepts to workplace contexts, yet still present managers with coaching processes that are difficult to recall and execute under the pressures of everyday leadership.

This context makes Fiona Campbell-Arrand’s Working With Trust a distinctive contribution. Rather than offering another technical manual, the book translates years of applied coaching experience into practical conversational frameworks designed for the realities of day-to-day leadership. Its achievement lies not in simplifying NLP, but in engineering coaching models that remain usable when leaders need them most.

Structure Designed for Application

The book distinguishes itself through its instructional design. Each concept is introduced through authentic workplace narratives before being distilled into practical conversational models. Rather than presenting isolated techniques, Campbell-Arrand embeds coaching principles within recognizable leadership situations. This approach allows readers to encode the learning through meaningful context, rather than attempting to memorize disconnected procedures.

This significantly narrows the gap between understanding a coaching model and applying it confidently in live conversations — arguably one of the greatest challenges facing leaders who wish to adopt a coaching style.

Models Engineered for Real Conversations

From an NLP perspective, one of the book’s greatest strengths is the thoughtful design of its coaching models. Throughout the text, sophisticated communication principles are organized into concise, memorable frameworks that support rapid recall without sacrificing depth.

Leadership conversations rarely allow time for mentally rehearsing lengthy procedures. Under pressure, leaders naturally rely on simple internal prompts. Campbell-Arrand’s models acknowledge this reality by providing compact heuristics that help maintain both conversational flow and coaching effectiveness.

Two models in particular stand out: RAFT and SPLATR.

RAFT guides conversations through Results, Actions, Feelings, and Thoughts. Rather than functioning as a rigid checklist, it creates a natural conversational progression that helps leaders explore not only what someone is doing, but also the thinking behind those actions. The framework resonates with established principles in cognitive psychology and achieves real depth through a structure that remains remarkably easy to remember and apply.

SPLATR offers a different but equally valuable approach. As an information-gathering framework, it enables leaders and coaches to build a comprehensive understanding of a situation within just a few minutes. Having introduced SPLATR to MBA and DBA students at the University of Tehran, I have seen how quickly participants adopt it and transfer it successfully into workplace conversations — particularly when establishing well-formed outcomes. Its greatest strength is its exceptional transferability from the training room to everyday organizational life.

Trust as an Operational Capability

Perhaps the book’s most significant contribution is its treatment of trust. Rather than presenting trust as an abstract leadership virtue or soft skill, Campbell-Arrand frames it as an operational capability — one that is continually strengthened or weakened through everyday conversations. By focusing on observable behaviors (attentive listening, purposeful questioning, developing shared understanding, and thoughtful response), she transforms trust from an aspirational concept into a practical, trainable leadership discipline.

Final Thoughts

The enduring value of Working With Trust lies in Campbell-Arrand’s ability to translate established NLP coaching principles into conversational frameworks that busy leaders can realistically use under pressure. Her contribution is not the invention of new concepts, but the intelligent design of models that preserve the full integrity of the discipline while making it substantially easier to apply in organizational settings.

For NLP practitioners, the book demonstrates how sophisticated principles can be distilled without losing their depth. For leaders and managers, it provides memorable structures that fit naturally into the pace of everyday leadership. This combination of theoretical fidelity, practical usability, and thoughtful instructional design makes Working With Trust a valuable addition to contemporary NLP business coaching literature.
