Certificated Practitioner course lengths vary as do Diploma, Master Practitioner and Trainers Training. Originally, when NLP was first introduced in the UK, training programmes required a minimum of 120 hours of attendance based i.e. face to face study time. Nowadays, courses vary widely and can be made up of entirely live attendance (i.e., face to face**) training or a combination of pre-course study and face to face training. Indeed, many courses are less than the 120 combined hours and there are even online Practitioner courses on offer, which require no live face to face training at all. Whilst ANLP do not favour any particular course structure because the quality of training depends on so much more the length of the course, we do recommend live face to face training if you are intending to use your certification to work with others. After all, would you want to work with a doctor or lawyer who has only learned their craft by watching a video or with books! ANLP therefore recommend a minimum of 50 live attendance hours (face to face training) for Practitioner level and 80 attendance hours for Master Practitioner level - ANLP Professional Membership reflects this minimum requirement. ** ‘Face to face’ may include virtual training that meets the ANLP criteria for virtual training.
