Reframing Members Email Updates

So many emails to read and not enough time…  Some view emails as the curse of the technology age…unsolicited, sales, advertising and Nigerian Princes with vast fortunes they are willing to give away…  The list is almost endless.

Much as we would love to call each one of you every time we have something important to say, that is neither practical nor fair – it has to be your choice as to when you take on board the latest member updates and we have to do our best to keep your membership fees at a reasonable level!

So this is why ANLP communicate with you via email and social media.  Relevant information is sent via email to enable you to get the latest tips, news, resources, benefits, and guidance on NLP. 

Your members monthly update email is one of your membership benefits...

Members who have read the updates have benefitted from all sorts of opportunities in the past, including financial savings, new client opportunities and PR opportunities - one member even ended up on a TV series!

That said, we know there is always room for improvement and we understand that separating the wheat from the chaff is sometimes less easy, so we thought we would ask our Members how we could make our Member Updates focused and relevant…

Read time

Our focus group asked us to put the estimated read time in the subject line of each email we send you.  We now do this.

Focus

Our focus group asked us to be less wordy.  We give short, sharp headlines and summary inform with a link to each update we are drawing your attention to. We now do this.

Relevance

Our focus group asked us to limit the number of headline points to 5 or 6, so you decide what’s relevant to you.  We now do this.

Visual

Our focus group told us that the use of images was important to distinguish our updates from the text-only messages that most people receive.  We do our best to use images to enhance the presentation of the email and to draw attention to the salient points in each one. 

 

So please remember, we simply use the monthly update email to communicate the important Membership information with you. We believe that they are a valuable resource for Members and may be the difference that makes the difference for your clients and your business.
