Train in NLP or Engage an NLP Professional?

The saying goes that if you give a person a fish, you feed them for a day…teach a person to fish and they feed themselves for a lifetime…

You have a similar choice when pondering whether to hire an ANLP Professional Member for some 1-2-1 sessions or whether to learn the techniques yourself by choosing to take an NLP Training with an ANLP Accredited Trainer or an ANLP Trainer Member.

There are many factors, not least the time and commitment to attend a 1-2-1 session or a course over several weeks. There are benefits to both and we hope to explain some of them here to help you make the choice that’s right for you…

Let’s explain a little more…

In NLP, we tend to start with the outcome in mind and therefore the options listed below are intended to give some food for thought and also to share what has worked well for other individuals in the past.

Whether you choose an ANLP Accredited Trainer, ANLP Trainer Member or ANLP Professional Member, they will all share the following qualities:

Expertise – an NLP professional who is a member of ANLP will have spent years and probably thousands of pounds acquiring expertise in NLP and this means you can get the results you seek even quicker. There are NLP Professionals in the ANLP database right now who have the skills you are looking for…

Quality – They deliver the highest quality services so that they can grow through personal recommendation – they succeed when you succeed.

Testimonials – Please check the independent reviews and testimonials of our NLP Professionals to verify their skills. It is important that you feel comfortable with the professional that you select.

You can be assured that you will find these qualities in the ANLP database. The difference in whether you want a 1-2-1 session or to be trained in NLP comes down to the outcome you want. A single or series of 1-2-1 sessions may have the following advantages in addition to the shared qualities listed above:

Advantages of 1-2-1 sessions

Privacy - 1-2-1 sessions will give you a more personal service and be tailored to your particular needs.

Cost – the cost of 1-2-1 sessions is generally less than the cost of a course (although, this is dependent on how many sessions you have and the cost of each one!).

Impartial and objective – it is often easier for an outsider to work with you, leading to real and lasting breakthroughs and they will be discrete and confidential in all their dealings with you.

Speciality – Our Members have areas of speciality where they may have worked extensively and have had great success and these are listed on their profiles. Spend some time browsing through those profiles which have the specialist skills that you are looking for.

Outcome – if you have a specific challenge or outcome you want to achieve, then maybe engaging the services of an NLP Professional for a few sessions is all you need to get you to where you want to be.

Advantages of Training in NLP

You can choose to train with an ANLP Trainer Member who can guide you through learning the tools and techniques of NLP and you can apply them to yourself and in your daily life too.

By training in NLP yourself, you will discover:

Variety – You will be introduced to a variety of tools and techniques that you can use for yourself or in your day-to-day life with those around you. The variety of tools will give you options in applying different techniques or dealing with different challenges.

Practical Demonstration – Most NLP trainers will provide practical demonstrations of NLP techniques by applying them to real challenges provided by their students and with their full permission. This means that any challenges you might pay for in a series of 1-2-1 NLP sessions are dealt with during the training itself. ** Practical Application** – NLP can be applied as a better way of communicating and of modelling excellence in social and workplace situations. You will learn how to do this appropriately and ethically from an ANLP Accredited Trainer or an ANLP Trainer Member.

Additional Skills – which you can add to your CV and potentially use to further your career and improve your promotional chances in the workplace…or even develop an additional income stream over time.

Whatever path you choose, remember that by working with an ANLP Member you are choosing someone who is part of an International Professional Association that promotes the ethical, certified and best practice of NLP.

All ANLP Members will have met certain criteria which you can check on their profile. ANLP represents the quality mark of NLP and members will have been checked and verified as part of their application process. That’s why we recommend using an ANLP member whatever your choice!
