Using Best Practices for your Practice!

Best Practice is a commonly (and perhaps over-) used term to describe the highest quality for standards of service delivery...

You may well be asking. "Who says so?"

At some point in the ancient past, it was OK for someone to pull out a troublesome tooth in whatever way they could...the term "dentist" had not been invented at that time...  Over the years, the field of Dentistry has evolved such that anaesthetics are now used to help with pain management and sterilised equipment helps with lowering the risk of infection...and if that fails, antibiotics are prescribed.  The way in which the tooth is extracted to cause as little pain or discomfort as possible, the tools the dentist has at their disposal, the chair in which you sit to have the tooth extracted...so many improvements and so many still happening as you read this...

These are all Best Practices and have evolved to make the service more efficient or less painful or more comfortable...better and best until the next innovation...

That's the point of "Best Practice".  It is the "Best" at any given point in time and can nearly always be improved.

So Best Practices are arrived at by a body of people doing something similar, sometimes connected, sometimes unconnected, who find better and best ways of doing whatever it is they do...and sharing it so that others can model it, learn it and do it...and adapt and improve it and share it...and so the cycle goes on...!

We canvassed ANLP Members and collated their opinion of the current Best Practice business tools, guidelines, documents and tips and put them all in one place under the Resources Menu on the website. You can access them by clicking here.  If you see something that makes sense and you can implement it effectively, please do so.  In the "current" time, these practices are indicative of a business that is operating safely and professionally and we highly recommend you read through what is available to you...  Modelling excellence is how NLP started and if we model those who excel in our field, we give credibility to ourselves and comfort to our clients.

...And... if you have any suggestions or improvements to anything you see, you can let us know by emailing us here.
