The Importance of Client Reviews

What do you look for when you look to buy something online?

Amazon and TripAdvisor are examples of hugely successful businesses that use Customer Reviews to endorse, influence and persuade potential customers’ purchasing decisions.

Reviews are becoming more and more important.  The opinions of people we may not know or ever meet become relevant to what we do, where we go and how we get there.

The ANLP Member Profile gives you an online shop front.  A good photo and a good description are both very important to attract the reader/viewer...and what else?

Positive Reviews. Plural.

“The average consumer reads 10 reviews before feeling able to trust a local business”  https://www.brightlocal.com/research/local-consumer-review-survey/

Ask your previous clients to give you a review.  The more you get, the better for your profile.  You can do this from your Member dashboard and it gives your clients an easy way to review you… A positive review can also endorse your skills, showcase your speciality and be the convincer for your potential clients.

“Positive reviews make 91% of consumers more likely to use a business.”  https://www.brightlocal.com/research/local-consumer-review-survey/

Positive reviews say the good and great things about you…so you can retain your professional modesty and promote yourself.  This is great, easy and good value (!) marketing and also builds the values of trust and integrity for you, your business and your services with the reader.  If the review-reader contacts you for your services, you have already started building rapport with them without ever interacting with them before

If anyone has ever said to you “I got your name from…”, you know this means you have a personal reference that is, hopefully, positive!  Reviews are the same thing in this context. Recommendations and referrals that are impersonal…and have almost as much weight as personal recommendations in the internet-age.

“88% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.”   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Customer_review

If you have had success with clients, ask them to give you a review. They can anonymise it if they want to and it brings additional credibility to your business and skills. Their endorsement will help inform and perhaps influence the reader…and you may find your waiting room and order book getting fuller…
