Martin Snoddon was a finalist in the 2017 NLP Awards for his services to Public Services and Community.

He has used his own experience of turning his life around in Northern Ireland and uses NLP based skills to mediate conflict resolution between communities and groups. He has travelled to Ukraine, Russia, Haiti and many other places requiring a facilitator with that rare combination of compassion and courage to de-escalate violence and conflict and to enable people to find a path through and beyond violence or dispute. He is the last to blow his own trumpet and his work for years could so easily go under the radar.

An NLP trainer and psychotherapeutically-trained, Martin facilitates groups using NLP-based techniques and principles to enable forgiveness and a pragmatic and respectful way forward. He is quietly spoken and shares deeply personal accounts of his own background, inspiring others to find the courage to challenge their own thinking and to walk in others’ shoes. Martin goes into situations where angels fear to tread, where war, gangs or natural disasters have broken down the usual structures and social norms.

Reb Veale, NLP Trainer and ANLP Member, who nominated Martin for the award, writes "I am sure, without exaggeration, that there are people alive now who would otherwise have perished through violence if not for Martin’s gentle and yet steadfast teaching and support. He has helped communities to heal deep rifts and idealistic divisions and even more importantly, has provided hope for a future and ‘normality’ which many dared not dream of. A more humble and principled NLP Professional you could not wish to meet."
