Blossom and Live Support
I am a qualified Master Practitioner Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Coach, registered with the Association of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (ANLP) and having a long-standing experience as a Mental Health Nurse for over twenty years. Capable of working with different nationalities and professionals, I am highly motivated, committed, passionate and supportive in performing these roles.
My personal experience with NLP has influenced my self-image and confidence; I view situations differently and in touch with my inner resources. It has also equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and techniques to work with others and help them to make a difference in their lives. This is especially true in my work with mentally ill patients facing various challenges including family problems, financial difficulties, physical illness and housing issues.
As a Community Mental Health Nurse in London, I have successfully care coordinated various caseloads of patients suffering from mental illness. My job involves assessment of health and social care needs, care planning and evaluation as well as clinical risk management. This is done together with the multidisciplinary and multiagency teams, including voluntary agencies, patients, and their families.
I have seen them through the various stages of their mental illness such as from crisis to recovery. During the process I have formed empathetic and trusting relationships with the patients and value being there for them. In addition, I display a compassionate and a non-judgemental attitude towards them as well as the ability to see their strengths beyond their mental illness.
In establishing the Blossom and Live Support, my aim is to empower women 25 years and over of Afro-Caribbean and Asian background living in London. It is to help them make a difference and move on in their lives. Also, through the use of NLP techniques and models, their confidence will be increased to take the necessary actions required to rise above their challenges. Some of the other ways they are supported are by helping to provide the information they require to make informed choices and decisions, provide a safe place to unburden their problems, help with goal setting and to achieve what they want in life. Further support will include referral to other services like debt management, housing, adult education, family support services, etc.
Alongside these roles, I have been working as a volunteer with London Healing Rooms Charity since 2019, supporting people with their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. I have in the past been involved with health education and health promotion in the community to improve people’s health including teacher training.
I qualified as a Master Practitioner in NLP in 2021 and had a Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing Studies (Mental Health) in 2001; Registered Nurse Mental Health (RNMH) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in 2001. In 1992, I completed a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Health Education and Promotion and a Diploma in Health Education for Developing Countries in 1988. Also, in 1985, I had a BSc. Degree in Home Economics Education and a Higher Teachers Certificate in 1976.
