In this article we will cover the five communication categories identified by Virginia Satir and a sixth recently identified category. We will also give you an introduction on how to use these to develop rapport with individuals and in groups. Virginia, one of the world’s leading family therapists, was ‘modelled’ by Richard Bandler and John Grinder (the founders of NLP).
