Suzanne Henwood

Master Coach and Trainer working with embodied, integrated, multiple intelligences, with a special interest in stress and anxiety

I have been working in the field of Personal and Professional Development since 1991.  As an NLP Trainer (since 2008) and mBIT Master Coach and Master Trainer (2015-2024), an educator, researcher and a health care professional, I am passionate about helping people to love themselves back to wholeness. It is my privilege to help people to achieve greater success and joy, for themselves and for their clients / patients and for their professions: to access who they were created to be - and to live to their full potential.

I work individually with clients who are serious about being real.  I, like others, are fed up with fake and toxic positivity.  I work to support people to be real, to acknowledge and feel what is happening and make wise, integrated choices about what they would like to change.  I work with physiology and neurology to change stress and anxiety responses in the body, freeing people up to be all that they can be.  I use a variety of tools and techniques to guide an individualised process - meeting the client where they are at and working with their unique, complex system. I am Trauma Informed in my approach. (I use: NLP, Time Line Techniques, mBIT (multiple Brain Integration Techniques), Positive Neuroplasticity, Havening,  ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), IDT (Interactive Drawing Therapy), Mindfulness, Heartmath, Polyvagal Informed Therapy, Existental Coaching, Solution Focused Brief Techniques, Refocusing Cuonselling, Map of Meaning and Comapssoin 360).  I work with people to get the results they want, safely and with integrity and passion.

I offer coaching support, supervision (of coaching and leaders) and a range of training opportuinities. In 2022 I was an Award Finalist for the ANLP Global Research and Education Award and in 2023, I was Awarded Best Neuroscience Based Coaching Provider in New Zealand - by Corporate Vision Awards. I have authored many books and book chapters, am a regular podcast and radio guest and write for magazines, as well as being a sought after speaker at coonferences and events. I work from an academic frame (having spent nearly a decade as an Associate Professor in Health and Social Sciences), bringing research and evidence based practice into my practice to enhance the credibility and currency of my coaching and training,by ensuring I use effective proven pathways.

Finally, I am the New Zealand Ambassador for ANLP and am very happy to talk to people about the amazing benefits of joining ANLP in New Zealand and exploring together how we can support you locally.

If you feel you would like to talk through how I could be of help - please do feel free to get in touch.

A review by Daksha Malik

I have worked with Suzanne for a number of years now and would recommend her highly to anyone that is looking for positive change. Suzanne is passionate about making a difference for the people that she works with and always gives 110% to everything that she does. I have seen first hand the incredible results that she achieves and and there are many, many people that have benefitted from the work that she does.

A Must Have

Reviewing: Words that Change Minds: Mastering the Language of Influence

This is a brilliant book for anyone who is passionate about understanding people and using language exquisitely. Breaking patters and behaviours into easy to understand chunks and explaining how to communicate to people who work in different ways, this book is invaluable to anyone who works with, teaches, cares for or leads and manages others. This, in my view, is one of the 'must haves' on any NLP practitioners shelf

An excellent read

Reviewing: The NLP Professional (first edition)

This is a beautifully written text tackling some of the key issues of NLP practices. Offering insight and recommendations to encourage ethical approaches to running a successful NLP business, I would highly commend this to all those looking to set or, expand or sustain an NLP business.

Its easy to read, full of wisdom and best practice and an incredibly valuable resource to have at hand.
