A Good Profile - How Much is Enough?

When we are writing or speaking about ourselves for others to read or hear, how much is enough?

When you are listening or reading about someone, have you ever felt that you want to know more about them…or conversely, you wish they would just stop talking. How much do you love getting absorbed into the detail of a web page...or conversely, how quickly do you move on because your eyesight has become blurred and your brain is running out of your ears?

Somewhere in between is where “enough” sits!

Your profile is your opportunity to build rapport with your potential clients – what do they want to know in order to take the next step and click on the link to your website or start following you on social media.

People use the internet at lightning speed, so you have a short time to showcase yourself and entice them to take the next step.

As a guideline, for your membership profile, your summary can be a maximum of 25 words and, whilst your profile can be as long as you choose, 200 – 300 words for an “About Me” description is enough!

So with that framework in mind, what about the content?

This is where you engage your NLP skills and take a different perspective…

First, consider what YOU want to know about when you make a purchase.

Then, start thinking about this differently (you’ll recognise this simple technique!)

  • Who are your ideal clients?
  • What are they looking for?
  • ow do you want them to feel after experiencing your NLP Services?
  • How might their life change for the better?

Now, step into their shoes and think about what THEY want to know when THEY are buying your products or services online?

Whatever your ideal client wants to know is what goes in your profile!

For some, it might be your breadth of your experience in managing their challenges. Whatever it is, make sure it’s part of the description about you because it adds to your credibility in their eyes.

And once you know what your potential clients are after, gather your resources and set up your profile to best appeal to them.

...and finally, ask a friend or colleague review your profile and give you honest input and feedback!

We are widening our reach to increase the potential number of people who can see what you’re offering.  Make sure you have “enough” so they can make an informed choice.
