This module looks at how we become aware of our impact on others, our communication style and how we can shift behaviour for effective outcomes.
AIMS:
To provide an opportunity for individuals to:
• Consider and explore their own personal style in relationships with others
• Identify strengths and areas for development
• Develop ability to handle interactions and build rapport with others more effectively
• Grow in confidence and resourcefulness in handling a broad range of people
• Devise and implement strategies to improve their own personal effectiveness
PROGRAMME FOCUS:
• Self-awareness and feedback skills
• Personal communication styles and assertion skills
• The exploration of what ’managing oneself in order to lead others’ might mean in behavioural terms
• Goal-setting for self and others
DAY ONE
• Welcome, introduction and setting ’ground rules’
• Getting to know ourselves - Johari Window and personal change
• Establishing key areas to work on from feedback
• Logical Levels of behaviour - shifting behaviour by shifting beliefs
• Introducing focused feedback
DAY TWO
• Review learning from Day One & reviewing the feedback exercise
• Transactional Analysis - understanding our communication styles
• Developing flexibility and choice in interactions with others
• Understanding positive/negative strokes
• Perceptual positions - looking at interactions with others from a new perspective
• Peer feedback
DAY THREE
• Review learning from Day Two
• Creating rapport to influence others
• Power of positive language in managing self and others
• Dealing with limiting beliefs
• Action Case
