Yvonne Fernando is a certified NLP Master Practitioner & Life Coach who works with adults, children and organisations to help them make positive change.

As a certified NLP Master Practitioner & Life Coach, Yvonne Fernando enjoys working with adults, children and organisations to help them discover their inner resources and fulfil their potential. Yvonne supports clients through change to give them more confidence, help them become 'unstuck' and move forward - keeping them focused, motivated and on track. Sessions are designed to open up horizons and create new possibilities. Working with a coach means clients make a commitment to themselves and to the things they really want in life.

NLP is a positive and proactive psychology that allows people to make powerful and effective change. Many areas can be improved or totally transformed. It is a logical system perfectly suited to managing day-to-day life or completely overhauling lives. Yvonne first came across NLP and visualisation techniques during team-building in her corporate years. It became more significant and transformational later, when she used NLP to bring about changes in her life. Now, with a wealth of experience across different areas, Yvonne enjoys helping other people develop themselves, both personally and professionally to enrich their own lives.

One to one sessions take place at Yvonne's private practice in Charing, Kent, in a relaxing and supportive environment. Animals are an important part of Yvonne's world and her practice; they pick up on emotional energies and clients enjoy and value their presence. At times, sessions may include relaxation or meditation techniques.

Yvonne also provides telephone coaching for clients further afield or who prefer consultation by phone.

In a recent mindfulness session, where the theme was "gratitude in difficult times" we were asked to write down someone we felt gratitude towards and why. Straight away I thought of Yvonne as I am so grateful for all her help. Empowering positive change

I have been seeing Yvonne for over 3 years now. After work related stress which led to anxiety and depression I needed an approach which would truly help me to realign, refocus and rebuild my life. Excellent Mindfulness Meditation Course

I have attended a number of Yvonne’s 8 week Mindfulness Meditation courses and found her to be a truly gifted, gentle, open and non judgemental individual.

The skills that she has introduced me to have been transformative in enabling me to overcome previously debilitating depression, anxiety and PTSD and to regain my sense of self and balance in life (which at times, I never envisaged could be possible).
I am now able to be still and calm my own mind and body, to look quietly “within” without fear of anxieties overtaking and have found my original self, my own quiet strength, hope, happiness and the confidence to follow long held dreams and new possibilities.

Hugely helped with anxiety through Mindfulness, relaxation and meditation.

I saw Yvonne at the end of last year, beginning of 2020. I was struggling with anxiety bought about by what I believe to be retirement from a full time job. I was waking in the night with vivid dreams on a host of subjects which, whilst not being significant, were sufficiently intrusive to make me needlessly worried and concerned. Whilst not needing to be I became anxious on historic events in my past and decisions I had made. This influenced my current thinking and brought about undue concerns about my future. Yvonne helped me to adopt Mindfulness as a key part of my way of living and to also practice relaxation and meditation. The sessions with her have changed my life with anxiety playing a second fiddle to my more relaxed way of life. My anxious dreams are now very few and far between. I can not thank Yvonne enough.

Fear of flying

As mentioned in Yvonne’s case study Following an emergency landing I developed a fear of flying. With just 3 or 4 one to one NLP sessions with Yvonne I am able to put my fear of flying to one side and can now fly quite happily. She was very understanding and the NLP sessions were informative, fun and totally cured my fear of flying.


Feeling empowered in challenging times

This was the only experience I have had of coaching, and I didn't really know what to expect, all I knew was that I needed some support to help me get through the challenges I had to face if I wanted a better future for me and my daughters. The work that Yvonne and I did together, gave me a sense of direction and was an empowering experience.

Yvonne helped me realise I needed to find my voice after years of not feeling quite good enough in some way. At last, I realised that I had everything I needed inside me to stand in my own power and move forward with confidence.

I know now, a few years on, that the anxiety I was experiencing had a purpose in my life, it served to protect me, but it doing so it held me back. Yvonne helped me see things from a different perspective, and the sessions were the start of new direction, a new chapter for me.

The process that I was guided through opened up a new world of possibilities - it helped me see things more clearly.

I admired the way that Yvonne managed to see through the 'fog' that I presented to her and she managed to clear it to show me the way forward from there. To this day I don't really understand what Yvonne did with me, but I trusted her, from the first session I started to make progress, and it was the start of a journey of self discovery that I'm still on. I'm grateful to Yvonne for helping me to find the best way forward for me.

Helped me get back to feeling myself

I have seen Yvonne over the past two years, which started with me feeling overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety and negative thinking, being unable to get up and out, interrupting my studies and struggling to do what I wanted, or even know what I wanted. That seems like a different person now. Yvonne was always super supportive, gave me the space and time to talk about difficult things, gave me exercises that suited my visual way of thinking, and was made it easy when I wanted to have more appointments after a few months without. Booking appointments was really flexible, giving me the opportunity to go put in to practice what I'd learnt, or I knew I could phone her and book a sooner appointments if I was struggling (very different and much more helpful than 'once a week for six weeks and you're out' with previous counselors). Even now, going off to uni I know I can contact Yvonne if, for whatever reason, I need to. Her dog was really helpful as well, always picking up if there was something I wasn't saying, or something I had disregarded as silly. With Yvonne's help I have more confidence in what I want to do, how to cope with difficulties, and who I am.
